Type 1 Diabetes Awareness Project

This concept project is incredibly close to my heart. My brother was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 12 and has been living with it every day. I created this small concept project with the goal of one day implementing it in schools and daycares to educate parents and children as well as prevent complications pre-diagnosis.

The 2D application here is a poster system and stickers that can be put up in and around school pickup areas for teachers and parents to see. It has a message that is easily readable and inviting to look at which questions their children’s current habits as excessive thirst is one of the early symptoms of T1D.

The 3D application is a testing kit that schools may possess to quickly and easily test their students if they notice symptoms. The goal was to make it interesting to look at and not frightening for students or teachers as many elements of the medical sector are. It also comes with a testing guide to inform and explain the procedure.
